SME Pulse
GENERAL CALCULATION METHODOLOGY
A specially developed index that reflects the current level of development of the SME segment in the economies of various countries. "Pulse" has absorbed many factors that affect small businesses, from general conditions of conduct to integration indicators into the economy. In the calculation of the final value 7 indicators are used with different weights depending on the degree of their influence. The interpretation of the values is divided into 4 zones, from very poor to excellent.
INTERPRETATION OF VALUES
over 85 points
Historically a highly developed SME sector , which, at the same time, is not deprived of attention from the state. The vast majority of the population in countries with this score is employed in the SME sector. Even in the context of globalization, these countries are much less vulnerable to external negative factors.
up to 70 points
SMEs are strong, but there is significant growth potential in the form of greater access to credit for small businesses and opportunities to expand turnover through special SME support programs.
up to 85 points
High degree of integration of entrepreneurial culture in society. Usually, in countries with this score, there is parity of influence of large corporations and small businesses
on the economic condition.
up to 50 points
The low level of small business development is typical for countries with a poor level of economic diversification. Support for SMEs is required at all levels, from affordable financing to special state programs, including non-financial ones.
